Guitar Volcano of Energy and Renaissance Man
Date of birth: March 8, 1984 – the day a man was born who proves that the guitar can be a tool for conquering both parishes and rock scenes.
Majk began his musical adventure early, at the age of 5, when he fell in love with the sounds of guitars at a summer camp. At the age of 13, he held the famous Defil with metal strings in his hands – an instrument that was known for playing more on his nerves than on stage. Later, he switched to a classic Hohner, bought with the first money he earned on his own, washing his uncles’ cars – a kind of Polish “American Dream”, only with a bucket and a sponge.
In the years 1999–2002, he led a choir, but quickly discovered that rock played in his soul more than psalms. Together with Leszek, Mikołaj, Młody and Karol, they created the Marche-a-terre2 formation, with which they traveled from parish to parish, playing Catholic rock.
They had the equipment from Father Grzesiek, but their souls were rebellious – Catholic songs quickly turned secular, giving rise to the band 4dziki in 2001. Unfortunately, this stage lasted only a few years, but they left a mark in the form of 11 songs recorded in the studio.
In 2009, Michał moved to Zielona Góra, where he joined the band Dormant Dissident as a rhythm guitarist. Over the course of five years, the EP DDemo and the album KnightMares were created. After returning to Wrocław in 2014, Majk joined the band Panzerhund, where he created real heavy metal with his friends, finalizing the album Płatka z Hewi Metalem.
In 2018, persuaded by Leszek, he returned to his roots – to 4dziki. After the first reunion concert in December 2018, the band has not slowed down, playing dozens of concerts and festivals, culminating in the EP Ku Chwale Dziczyzny in 2023.
In the meantime, Michał decided to face his vocal beast. In 2022, he started singing lessons because – as he says – “I thought I could sing, but life has shown that two concerts in a row is like running a marathon in a helmet.”
